Ringway standardises on Masternaut
Highway maintenance specialist Ringway has started fitting Masternaut tracking and location systems in its vehicles. The first to be equipped in the 2,000-strong national fleet are a batch of vehicles maintaining roads for Surrey County Council. The company had previously been using other makes of tracking system, but highway services managing director Scott Wardrop says the company wanted a single system which would be easy to implement and accessible to everyone who needed it. He says he also valued Masternaut's pay-as-you-go approach to payment. The system provides the company with a complete management information service. Real-time information is gathered automatically via GPS and vehicle sensors or through mobile data entry via in-cab and portable devices. These can also be used as part of a job despatch system. Ringway provides services in roads maintenance, construction, surfacing and street lighting, as well as manufacturing signs, road-marking materials and asphalt.
