Wireless lab in Scotland
If you're a wireless technology developer and you're based in Scotland, you may find you have a head's start over rivals in terms of research. A new test and demonstration laboratory has been launched at Wireless Innovation, Scotland's National Centre for Wireless and Mobile Technology - and it's available free to Scottish companies. The project is supported by companies such as mobile operators Orange, O2 and T Mobile, and by information and communications technology companies Microsoft, Agilent, BT and Anritsu. There are also a range of RFID (radio frequency identification) demonstrations, which are supported by companies such as IBM, Sun Microsystems, Symbol Technologies and BT Auto-ID. The facility is at Hillington Park Innovation Centre, which is owned by a consortium made up of Scottish Enterprise Renfrewshire and Caledonian Land Properties.
