Property company automates payroll, monitors routing with telematics
Mono Services, a big property maintenance specialist, is equipping its full fleet of 200 maintenance and surveyor vehicles with the Fleetstar-Online Internet-based fleet management and asset tracking system from Cybit. The deal is said to be costing £400,000 over five years, The company says there were two key attractions in implementing a real-time tracking system - to automate payroll calculations, and to monitor the routes taken by vehicles and the time they spend at supplier sites. Historically, drivers filled in time sheets manually, and these were then processed in the conventional way through the company's payroll system. However, the Fleetstar-Online system can be integrated with the company's existing back-office system, automating the calculation of drivers' hours, and streamlining the whole process. The Fleetstar system is supplied on a hosted pay-as-you-go basis, using a small in-vehicle GPS unit to calculate positions.
