Switch to Fleetstar scheme aims to woo uses from rivals
In an uncompromising bid to woo vehicle fleet operators away from rival telematics systems, Cybit has launched a campaign under the banner of "Switch to Fleetstar". To make it as easy as possible for operators to make the change, if potential users have outstanding telematics funding costs tied up in what Cybit calls "first-generation solutions", the company is offering to incorporate them into the customer's new Fleetstar-Online funding agreement, subject to credit clearance. Fleetstar-Online collects data feeds from vehicles at 19-second intervals, underpinning the development of third-party services such as Norwich Union's Fleet Telematics programme (which offers the possibility of insurance premium rebates of up to 16 per cent per year). The system has switched to GPRS data transmission, and its costs start at £20 per vehicle per month for an entry-level system.
