Belgravium goes graphical with latest truckmount
Belgravium has completely upgraded and redesigned its Monaco 7000 range of vehicle-mounted computer terminals, replacing the former text-based interface with a graphical version based on Windows CE. But the company is emphasising that the new 7100 retains "all the key physical selling points" that were valued by customers. Among the key features of the new model are its large, backlit keys and sealed membrane keyboard, which offers resistance to chemicals and fluid ingress and is a non-condensation and non-freeze design. A highefinition, high-contrast, colour quarter-VGA 5.7in TFT display is used, offering good visibility in all lighting conditions. The five-wire touch screen design is said to remain fully functional even when damaged. A single printed circuit board design has been used, and is said to provide good shock absorption capabilities. It is protected by a high-impact Xenoy ABS fascia and heavyuty stainless steel case. It uses an Intel XScale processor, and has 64MB of Flash memory and 64MB of RAM. Wi-Fi spread-spectrum networking to a, b and g standard is built in. The unit also supports GPRS wireless data transmission.
