Dexterra adds support for BlackBerry, Palm and Symbian
Mobile applications developer Dexterra is broadening out the range of mobile technology platforms supported by its systems. Having focused in the past on Windows and Windows Mobile client systems, and latterly the Microsoft .NET platform, the company is now adding "smart client" support for most of the other main contenders in the mobile space, including BlackBerry, Symbian and Palm devices. An additional platform also supported is Nextel. Dexterra is preserving the features that it believes users value in its existing product portfolio, including an easy-to-use application design, a visually oriented development environment and a change-ready and secure platform architecture. The company is also maintaining the same underlying technology, which involves what it terms a "metaata driven design". According to chairman and chief executive Rob Loughan: "The next generation for field force mobilisation is here with Dexterra."
