Lighter, faster, tougher portable printer
A higher print speed, greater robustness and longer battery life - these are among features of an upgraded version of SATO UK's MB200 series portable label printer. The unit's new-style battery is said to print twice as many labels as the original MB200 models, and to be easier to charge and replace. An optional charger can accommodate five batteries. Print speeds of the new unit are said to be the fastest in its class - up to 103mm per second - and it takes larger reels of labels (a 67mm diameter roll) which are said to be quicker and easier to load. The printer is also quieter. SATO has taken the unusual line of admitting to criticism of previous models (all makes, not just its own), emphasising the point that it has addressed these. Marketing manager David Roome says complaints about all such printers tend to involve their robustness, speed, battery life and the need to replace label reels frequently.
