Smallest Inmarsat tracking system yet?
If you need to track vehicles globally, a system using satellite communications as well as satellite-based positioning may well be the only solution. Such operators should therefore welcome a new addition to the product range of tracking specialist Satamatics. The company's ultra-compact SAT 201 is said to be unique in terms of its small size and high performance. It offers the same functionality as the company's existing SAT 101 package, but all components are now embodied in a single, compact unit. Satamatics says it is the smallest Inmarsat D+ terminal in the world, and is therefore particularly suitable for covert installation. The 201 has an integrated antenna that is said to deliver good performance at very low elevation to the satellite, and consumes very little power. It is also said to be robust, therefore suitable for use in harsh environments including defence, maritime and transport operations. The SAT 201 is fully configurable and programmable over the air or locally, allowing full autonomous and unmanned operation.
