Upgrade to map&guide map server
Satellite navigation developers who use remotely-held mapping that is downloaded to mobile devices on demand should welcome an upgrade to the map&guide iNETServer from German developer map&guide. Road matching is among new features. GPS coordinates are mapped on to the digital road network, and the company says this means that vehicle routes and positions can be mapped and tracked with almost 100 per cent accuracy. Existing maps have been updated, and there are now various entirely new map datasets, including data for cities in Poland, Brazil, Athens City and (shortly) South Africa. Alternatively, Europe-wide Tele Atlas maps are available. A 'geogrid' layer now makes it possible to combine topographical maps with map&guide maps, and a new raster layer enables users to display individually-created map sections or maps as BMP or JPG files on their own layer.
