Mirrored servers for Telepartners ServiceNet
ServiceNet field service management systems hosted by Telepartner Systems now offer users an extra layer of security. The company has 'co-located' its servers, which means it has set up a second, mirror server site at a different location to ensure continuity of service in the unlikely event of system failure. The main servers are in the Midlands, while the new facility is in Reading. As a result, Telepartner says, it can now offer customers much tighter SLA (service level agreement) terms than before. The main facility is purpose-built, and has hardened, multiply-redundant network connections, uninterruptible power supplies, a large back-up generator and automatic fire suppression. ServiceNet is a pay-as-you-go subscription service that aims to offer low cost of entry and a fully managed service solution for an affordable monthly fee, and can include the mobile airtime agreement. The company says that since its launch last year it has quickly matured into a fully fledged mobile field service solution. Some customers are entrusting both field despatch control and asset management data to ServiceNet.
