Telcontar opens online resources to developers
Is your software development team completely comfortable with the technologies involved in integrating your systems with mobile applications and location-based services? For those who have any doubts, mobile technology specialist Telcontar has announced on online prototyping and development resource called Telcontar Developer Zone. Here developers can access software, sample code, documentation and various tools (including use of map data from leading vendors). The idea is to help developers write applications that make LBS queries to a shared Drill Down Server, which is the brand name for Telcontar's geospatial software platform - and do it all via the Internet. The system also takes in Telcontar's recently released standards-compliant Web Services Application Programming Interface (WSAPI). The company says the result is that users can focus their resources on developing advanced location-based applications, without having to install geospatial servers or software and acquire map or points of interest data.
