More versatile scanner

Symbol has announced a new generation of handheld barcode scanners which, it says, use a unique multi-line scan pattern to allows users to scan one-dimensional barcodes quickly and accurately - even if they are damaged, small or poorly printed.

The LS4208 scanner also offers a 19-inch scanning range and improved motion tolerance, and is said to provide users with greater flexibility to capture data rapidly and accurately from a variety of items without pausing between scans.

The LS4208 handheld scanner is seen as finding a place in large, multi-scanner environments such as warehouses, where its remote, network-based device management capability is said to lower IT costs and allow easy customisation. It can be switched readily between hands-free and handheld mode.

  • Symbol has announced a 'hassle-free' Advanced Exchange Support programme that is said to relieve customers of the management and tracking of replacement units and the need to purchase, stock, and manage spare devices.
