RFID for Hand Held
If you're looking for a robust handheld terminal with the ability to read RFID (radio frequency identification) codes as well as conventional barcodes, you'll be interested in a development involving units from Hand Held Products. UnIQue ID, an auto-identification specialist based in High Wycombe, UK, has integrated both low- and high-frequency RFID readers into two standard Hand Held units - the Dolphin 7900 and the Dolphin 9500. They handle frequencies of 125MHz and 13.56MHz respectively. Both models retain their standard features, which include Bluetooth connectivity, wireless local area networking and GPRS, plus Adaptus imaging technology (a technology developed by Hand Held Products itself).
