Taylor Woodrow saves with facilities management package
Taylor Woodrow Facilities Management says it has cut out thousands of telephone calls to its call centre since introducing a mobile workforce solution from TBS, as well as boosting accuracy of data gathered from mobile engineers in the field from 50 to 100 per cent. The company is using the TBS TaskMaster solution with technicians who provide facilities management at Shell petrol stations and O2 cell sites. It runs on handheld computers, enabling them to receive and send critical repair and parts information in real time (via GPRS wireless data network), and the company says this means repairs can be carried out faster and more cost effectively. The company says the system has also enabled it to update customers more quickly on the progress of work, as well as largely eliminating the need for paperwork - which in turn has meant a reduction in administration. And helpdesk personnel no longer need to close down jobs, since the process is now automated. TBS managing director Steve Reynolds, who is also vice chairman of the Mobile Data Association, says there is a growing demand in the facilities management sector for mobile data solutions of this kind.
