Land management company tracks vehicles
"I can view our vehicle movements from the office or at home, outside normal hours." That comment from Steve Cooke, contracts manager at Stowland, an amenity land management company, sums up one of the attractions of fitting a telematics and tracking system in its vehicle fleet. Stowland is based in mid-Suffolk, and had chosen a tracking system from Seven Eye, another East Anglia company based in Ipswich. Stowland has contracts with large organisations such as EDF and local authorities, and specialises in clearing and maintaining unmanned sites and tree felling. The company trialled the Seven Eye tracking system before making the decision to adopt it. The system works in real time, and tracking data is accessed via the Seven Eye Web site, giving up-to-the-minute information on the current location of vehicles, as well as historical data on where they've been. Added features include geofences, congestion charge alarming, full reporting and PDA interfacing to traffic management systems.
