Smoother Bluetooth satnav connectivity
If you're using PDA-based navigation systems with a separate GPS module, and your staff find it a trial to get all the hardware working effectively together, you might be interested in a new product from Socket Communications. It's basically an upgrade to the company's existing GPS Nav Kit, which now features some software called Connect!Agent. You also get updated Navteq map data and Windows Mobile 5.0 support. According to Donnie Wong, GPS product marketing manager for the company: "The average Bluetooth user experience is full of complicated device and software set-ups, along with compatibility and security issues." Socket says Connect!Agent software simplifies cordless connectivity and eliminates the hassles of managing multiple Bluetooth devices for a mobile user. Specifically, Connect!Agent simplifies the Bluetooth setup, discovery and connection process of the Bluetooth GPS receiver from within the company's MyNavigator application. It is said to be compatible with multiple technologies, devices and protocol stacks.
