A clear view of the landscape

ISS Waterers, a fast-growing landscaping specialist, says it has cut its vehicle fuel bills by 10 per cent since introducing the Eye-TraX vehicle tracking system from Police5 in the ground maintenance vans it runs in Britain's South East region.

It says that having the system in place has also helped it to demonstrate compliance with its duty of care obligation to employees - and that this in turn is giving it an advantage when tendering for new business.

According to commercial director Mark Lusty: "The Police5 Eye-TraX system was the obvious solution for us because of its comprehensive nature." He says he is also particularly pleased with the way it can be set up in hierarchical fashion. "Managers can monitor their own teams and have full knowledge of their movements from the moment the ignition is switched on."

A controller can log on to the Eye-TraX Web site to view the activities of a vehicle or the entire fleet, and a history of all activities can be re-played and viewed. There is also an extensive reporting facility showing individual driver or specific vehicle movements.
