Job management added to Cybit tracking
Reflecting the current trend towards integration of telematics systems with other operational functions, Cybit has added what it describes as a job management function to its Fleetstar-Online Web-based tracking and location system. The system allows users to create jobs in external software and import them into Fleetstar-Online, then check requirements against available vehicles, and monitor performance against planned schedules. According to chief executive Richard Horsman: "Job Management takes telematics beyond location to show where a company's mobile assets are in relation to specific scheduled jobs or delivery points." Addresses and details of jobs can be imported either directly through an application programming interface, or in the form of flat comma-delimited files. All current and future jobs can then be viewed on an online map. Details of vehicles currently engaged on jobs are displayed on a list sheet, and the map can be controlled simply by clicking on a job. Fleetstar-Online also uses this data to generate a range of reports, including summary reports and details of each job.
