An upgraded version of the Navman Jupiter 12 GPS receiver module is now available in the UK, and is being marketed by TDC, a specialist electronic component distributor.

It is said to combine navigation accuracy with low current consumption (75mA at 3.3VDC) and cost effectiveness.

Jupiter 21 measures 40.6 by 71.1 by 11.5mm, weighs 25g and is said to be easy to integrate into user designs - which means it is suitable for a wide range of design applications such as fleet management, asset tracking and vehicle navigation products.

The integrated receiver incorporates and enhances the established technology of the SiRFstarIIe/LP chipset, decoding and processing signals from all visible GPS satellites.
