Route planning and scheduling now form part of the product portfolio of Microlise, thanks to an agreement with US-based ORTEC to offer its suite of products. The company says this means it can now offer transport, logistics and field service customers full lifecycle management of transport and work planning and execution.

Features of the ORTEC solution include fixed-route and day-to-day route planning; "out-of-the-box" solutions catering for sectors such as haulage and third-party distribution; real-time interaction between office and mobile workers; and full reporting of planned versus actual routes.
