Workflow management, job allocation added to C-track
The C-track vehicle tracking and fleet management system has been augmented by its supplier, Digicore, with job allocation and management facilities. In effect, the company has taken its cue from the more innovative of current telematics suppliers, turning its system into a much more wide-ranging resource allocation and work management solution. The new facilities are contained in two modules - C-track Workflow and C-track Job-Go. The Workflow product aims to give an overview of fleet activity, and to provide details on vehicle status and resource availability. This allows an office-based fleet manager or job scheduler to access vehicle and driver details and see which mobile assets are available, at a job or on the road. The Job-Go module allows fleet operators to allocate jobs in real time to ensure the most effective use of mobile assets. It identifies the most suitable vehicle for each job, basing decisions on various parameters such as distance, work-load and remaining working time. Vehicles are then contacted via the existing two-way messaging service, and drivers can accept or reject the job, or navigate immediately to the destination.
Internationally, the Digicore business claims to have its C-track technology fitted to more than 150,000 vehicles operating in 19 countries across four continents.
