Cybit offers tracking for less than a pound a day
As the cost of telematics and tracking applications continues to fall, Cybit is another supplier offering Internet-based fleet and asset management for less than £1 per vehicle per day. That is the price of its latest out-of-the-box system. For this, users get the ability to capture live location-based information, use exception-based reports to measure performance and refine business processes, and ensure enhanced duty of care provision by analysing driving practices and live tracking. The system is called Fleetstar-AVL, and is based on Cybit's existing Fleetstar-Online telematics solution. It is being offered through the company's growing network of resellers (now twenty strong), and is particularly targeting small and medium-sized businesses which previously regarded telematics solutions as beyond their financial reach. According to Simon Jones, managing director of reseller Fleetview Solutions: "A growing number of SME organisations É want their business to benefit from telematics, but aren't always able to find the budget for a major technology project." Fleetstar-AVL also integrates with Smartnav from Trafficmaster, providing speech-based navigation instructions to drivers.
