Trailer and plant GPS tracking units from Portman
A range of GPS devices suitable for the telematics market is being launched in the UK by Portman Security Systems International, part of a worldwide group with an extensive manufacturing and development facilities in China. The company already lays claim to a strong presence in telematics markets outside Europe, and is now keen to bolster its presence here. Its latest products for this market include what is described as a state-of-the-art solar-assisted trailer tracking unit; and a GPS tracking and security device for plant and construction equipment. Portman claims to be the world's second-largest OEM manufacturer of aftermarket vehicle security products, and is also one the world's leading manufacturers of GPS tracking devices. It caters for every application type, including cars, trucks, trailers, plant equipment, motorcycles and personal tracking. The company claims to have over 160 customers and partners in over 50 countries.
