Bio Products Laboratory, a not-for-profit company ultimately owned by the UK Government, says it has successfully streamlined its staff's ability to keep in touch on the move by introducing CommonTime's mSuite wireless Lotus Notes mobility solution.

Among benefits, it says, its sales team is now more productive, since members can receive and respond to emails on the move. And the IT team is now able to offer users support out of hours.

Doug Morton, IT manager at Bio Products Laboratory, says the project was helped by the fact that CommonTime uses the same model as Domino. "There was no need for huge training or understanding curve to go through. People who travel as part of their roles can now pick up email anywhere in the world, and we've done this without a huge cost to the business."

Other attractions of the system are said to have included moderate cost, and that fact that the solution is independent of specific mobile devices and networks.
