A "3D view" online mapping feature has been added to the interactive Web-based mapping used with the online tracking systems of Btrack Solutions. The map moves when clicked on, rather than simply being refreshed as in previous mapping systems.

Btrack claims to be one of the first companies in Europe to provide this new generation on on-screen mapping, which is produced by Map24, a subsidiary of Mapsolute. Map24 is one of the first developers to introduce AJAX programming for its Web pages, creating a smoother user experience in which pages are updated seamlessly without having to be redrawn every time (more in Software & Services, page 40).

The latest mapping is available with Btrack's Easitracker trailer-based tracking system and Easilocator vehicle-based system. Users can see multiple assets (vehicles, trailers and so on) on a screen map, superimposed on one another if necessary, all in real time.

Btrack offers full European street level coverage and a live reverse geocoding capability, which makes it possible for a user to click on a road or point of interest to find out more information. The company says it is shortly offer the system with its HGV fuel monitoring system.
