Easier setup of remote monitoring applications
As our picture conveys, both hardware and software for radio-based SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) applications are catered for in the latest VHF wireless and data communications package from Satel. SCADA activities tend to involve remote monitoring of unmanned equipment such as water and pipeline pumping installations, wind turbines and weather stations. The package includes Satel's Satellinin-3AS VHF wireless modem, which operates at up to 19.2 kbits per second and has a range put at "tens of kilometres". It is configured for "plug and play" use, and weighs just 265g. Supporting this is a network management software application, which runs on a PC that is configured as a "master station". The whole package is designed to help users set up a remote telemetry system more easily than in the past.
