Carillions fleet customers to be offered vehicle tracking
Carillion Fleet Management, a division of the group that emerged with the split-up of Tarmac in 1999, is offering live Web-based vehicle tracking and telematics services to the operators of the 17,000 vehicles in its care. It has struck a "partnership" deal with Masternaut, which the two companies say revolutionises the service Carillion can offer. Carillion's fleet management operation focuses on four specific market sectors - rail infrastructure, highway infrastructure, public services (police, fire, ambulance and municipal), and large car and commercial vehicle fleet management. The company already offers extensive online management reporting, but says the deal with Masternaut allows it to extend this capability, and to include features such as real-time information on vehicle movements and incident alerts. Carillion offers the classic range of fleet management resources, including an unusually wide range of options such as utilisation management, EDI Billing and risk management and avoidance. The parent group's other activities include facilities management, estate management, property insurance and consultancy.
