Cybit repackages Bluefinger system as entry-level product
Following its acquisition earlier this year of fellow-tracking systems specialist Bluefinger, Cybit has harnessed Bluefinger technology to create what it describes as an entry-level GPS-based vehicle location system. It says the acquired company was particularly experienced in this type of system. It has branded the new product Fleetstar-Reporter, maintaining the link with its existing Fleetstar-Online package, and says it is highly scalable - offering operators the chance to "start small" and upgrade later, as the company puts it. It is to be supplied through the expanding Cybit reseller network. Even as it stands, Fleetstar-Reporter has some useful features. It includes live vehicle visibility and regular email-based reporting to improve decision-making and control, and it provides regular reports on fleet activity, allowing users to analyse key metrics and enhance productivity and effectiveness. Chief executive Richard Horsman says the system "targets the growing number of small and medium-sized organisations that want their business to benefit from the advantages of telematics, but aren't always able to find the budget for a major technology project."
