Tyre supplier improves service by tracking
British & International Tyre Supplies has installed the SupaTrak vehicle tracking solution from CMS Global Technologies in the 12-vehicle delivery fleet based at its Bristol branch. One of the key attractions for the company was the potential improvement customer service. It says that when customers ring to enquire when they can expect delivery, its staff no longer have to call the relevant driver to ask where he is. They can see the vehicle's exact location on screen, and on that basis work out the likely delivery time and confirm it to the customer - all whilst they are on the phone. The savings in time and money have been instant, BITS says, and the benefits have been immense in terms of increased customer confidence in an highly competitive business. SupaTrak uses CMS's OWP (Open Wireless Platform), and is offered at all-inclusive prices starting at less than £1 per day, with no ties to long-term contracts. Vehicle position updates are provided every minute, or can be configured to provide Europe-wide location at 30-second intervals. BITS is said to be the only leading independent tyre wholesaler to offer a comprehensive service for all the major brands throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland. It holds national tyre stocks worth over £6 million, and offers 24-hour delivery on many lines.
