Voice support for wearables from Voxware
Voice-based logistics specialist Voxware has been quick to announce support for both the Symbol WT4000 and LXE HX2 wearable computers, which were unveiled early this autumn. Both models have been certified to run VoxBrowser, the brand name for Voxware's VoiceXML browser, and are described as ideal for hands-free logistics operations in demanding environments. VoxBrowser is part of a family of open, standards-based software solutions for logistics, which includes Voxware's flagship VoiceLogistics Pro software toolkit for logistics solutions providers. The most recent version 2.0 release of VoiceLogistics Pro is said to offer integrators and warehouse management system providers the ability to create powerful, flexible voice logistics solutions as an integral part of their overall applications. The Symbol wearable unit is available now, while the LXE model is due to become available early in 2007. * RedPrairie has selected Voxware's VoiceLogistics Pro software to add voice technology to its WMS product offerings for the International market. It says the first customer installations are expected early in 2007.
