JLT tablet PCs from Barcoding

Tablet PCs manufactured in Sweden by JTL are now available through Barcoding.co.uk, the auto-identification specialist that used to be known as Castle Auto ID.

The flagship of the industrial-grade JTL range is the JTL 8403, a rugged field tablet PC running the full Windows XP operating system. This can be delivered either on a hard disk or in solid-state flash disk memory.

The unit has a specification to match, including and 800MHz processor and up to 512MB of RAM, along with an 8.4in touch screen.

Its IP-65 water and dust ingress rating is impressive, and it is also approved to MIL-STD-810F shock and vibration standard. These features make the unit a good candidate for use in hostile conditions where a normal keyboard use is not practical. Applications could include store and warehouse stock control, safety inspections, service maintenance and logistics, the company says.
