Telematics system makes quick response even quicker
Vehicle tracking and remote management have been adopted by Interservefm, a leading provider of outsourced support services, in a bid to improve service level compliance and avoid penalties for non-compliance. One hundred of its latest vehicles have been equipped. The company has chosen the Web-based Fleetstar-MRM system from Cybit, which is described as a cost-effective ASP-based fleet management solution. Interservefm provides a tiered response service, in which the level of response is dictated by the urgency of the repair. For instance, "make-safe" reactive maintenance (where human safety is endangered) demands action within two hours, while less threatening issues can be dealt in a response time that ranges from same-day to seven days. The Cybit system will monitor vehicle movements against scheduled jobs and identify the nearest available engineer for each emergency job. The company is also aiming to improve productivity through effective verification of engineers' working time (it will be monitoring job arrival and departure times, for example). In addition, Interservefm says the real-time visibility will enable its dedicated helpdesk staff to provide accurate arrival times to clients. Cybit is providing consultancy support to ensure Interservefm realises the full potential of Fleetstar and maximises its return on investment.
