But you wouldnt do that, would you?
In the past six months, Londoners have left 54,874 mobile phones in taxis, along with 4,718 handheld computers, 3,179 laptop computers and 923 USB memory modules or "thumb drives". That's the finding of an international survey by Pointsec, the mobile device security specialist. It adds that London rates as the city where most people leave phones in taxis, followed by Mumbai, then Sydney. London also leads, if that's the right term, in laptop computers, in this case followed by Munich, then Mumbai. The good news: three quarters of people who left mobile phones in taxis got them back, and in London the figure was 96 per cent. But in San Francisco it was just 32 per cent. Pointsec's advice: use every security system available on portable devices like these.
