Clothing supplier sharpens security by tracking
Direct UK, a contract clothing distribution company serving many well-known high-street stores, has sharpened up security on its delivery operations by fitting a real-time tracking system in its 75-strong distribution fleet. It has chosen the Seven Eye Web-based tracking solution. The company says a key reason for its choice was the ability of the Asset Track system to provide reporting on door openings. This means Direct UK can now monitor exactly when and where access has been made to its consignments. Since the system allows polling as frequently as every minute, and refreshes the on-screen map every time a new position is reported, Direct UK can be kept constantly up to date with vehicle location and status, which in turn allows it to advise clients accurately about delivery times. Managing director Russell Marnoch adds: 'Asset Track also gives us the means to meet all insurance requirements.' He also says it is a notably easy-to-use system, and commends Seven for fuss-free installation and after-sales support.
