More forms-based apps as Crimson Tide expands
You can expect an expanded range of business applications for smartphones and PDAs from Crimson Tide, the company says, following its acquisition of Dublin-based Intelligent Data. Crimson Tide's solutions range from mobile field service and sales to customer relationship management and custom forms and applications. Hardware, software and services are all included in a monthly subscription - an approach aimed at bringing handheld applications to small and mid-market enterprises. The company says it has had particular success with custom forms. It provides a form on a handheld device (the Palm Treo is said to be a popular choice), and field-based staff complete the form and submit back to base in real time over GPRS or Wi-Fi. Now the company has announced a partner programme for mobile telecoms dealers. It says this is designed to attract dealers frustrated by not being able to close opportunities available in mobile data for the small and mid-market. Crimson Tide is based in Tunbridge Wells, and has also retained the Dublin office.
