Parts kiosk?
We think the latest device from Hand Held Products will really get you thinking. You might like to consider how you could use it. It's called the 8560 Image Kiosk. Hand Held suggests it could find a use in situations such as airport check-ins and supermarket self-service environments, where customers could check availability and pricing of goods. If that doesn't sound terribly logistics-related, the company adds that it would also be effective in parts warehouses and manufacturing applications, where staff might need to check on the availability of components. It's basically a small, touch-screen device running under Windows CE 5.0. It incorporates its own fast barcode scanner using Adaptus imaging technology. The specification includes an Intel XScale processor running at 200 MHz, 32MB of flash memory and 64MB of RAM. It has provision for the usual range of peripherals and wireless networking.
