Telematics system streamlines and saves for painting company
Fitting a telematics system from Minorplanet in a fleet of just under 200 vehicles has saved more than £30,000 for Bell Group, a leading commercial and industrial painting company. Having used Minorplanet systems in the past, the company decided to re-equip its fleet, which has grown steadily through acquisition, using the latest VMIgreenlight Web-based system from the company. The programme has involved 190 vehicles out of a total fleet of 250. Among benefits listed by the company are the ability to track vehicles and deploy them appropriately, and a reduction in unauthorised personal use of vehicles. In all, such savings are said to have resulted in a 20 per cent reduction in monthly fuel bills and an eight per cent cut in insurance premiums. Bell Group says it has doubled in size over the last five years. It is based in Glasgow and has a national network of 18 offices. Clients include Royal residences, regional councils, the Ministry of Defence, Scottish Parliament, hotel chains, NHS Trusts, housing associations, universities and large industrial corporations.
