The real-time vehicle tracking systems offered by UK software house Fleetfinder have been expanded into a comprehensive transport management suite called Fleetonline.

It offers features such as job allocation, dynamic scheduling and field force automation. The suite is built on open-architecture programming lines, and runs in a web browser environment, but it is hosted locally by user-companies, effectively in an intranet system.

Director Mike Mazza told m.logistics the company's experience shows that tracking as such is not enough for most operators, who actually want exception reporting on delivery performance, and the opportunity to reschedule if things go wrong.
