Tougher Casio scanner
A tougher version of Casio's rugged DT-930 entry-level scanning terminal is now available from the company. It can be dropped on to concrete from a height of 2 metres - 10 per cent better than the standard version. It has IP54-level dust and water-splash protection, and an operating temperature range of minus 20 deg C to plus 50 deg C. The DT-903 has an SH1 RISC-type processor and a monochrome FSTN LED display. It can read a wide range of barcode symbologies, including EAN8, EAN13, UPC-A/E, Codabar, Code39, Code93, Code128/EAN128, ITF, MSI and IATA. It is said to run for up to 200 hours on two AA alkaline batteries or 50 hours on a rechargeable lithium ion battery. Bluetooth wireless connectivity is built in.
