Backpack adds GPRS connectivity to Casio handheld
If you are using or planning to use Casio IT-600 handheld computers, you can now add GPRS connectivity to them by means of a GPRS 'backpack' from Greenwich Instruments. The GEM600GPRS unit is secured with four fixing screws connecting the backpack to the rear port of the IT-600, and is internally sealed with gaskets to prevent moisture and dust ingress. Greenwich says vital elements of the base computer such as the camera, barcode scanner and battery compartment are not modified in any way. A CompactFlash card is embedded in the pack, allowing a SIM card to be inserted by the user. The backpack can be fitted to new IT-600 units or introduced as an upgrade path for existing units.
