Commercial push for CoPilot satnav
Satellite navigation specialist ALK Technologies is the latest in its field to home in on the Internet delivery market as a sector particularly appropriate for its solutions. Its FleetCenter product integrates with its CoPilot Live family of GPS navigation products to provide real-time location information and data about entire fleets. Vehicle location and trip data and other information are reported to FleetCenter via a mobile internet connection (GPRS or 3G), showing the location of mobile assets in real time. Other consumer satnav specialists have also seen opportunities to appeal to the logistics sector, including for instance TomTom with its TomTom Work product.
