More data over TETRA networks
Data transfer over TETRA trunked wireless networks could work better in future as a result of new technology from Radio IP Software. It has announced a system which, it says, uses a mixture of compression, security and connectivity features to improve the rate of data transfer up to a remarkable 154 times. TETRA is used widely by emergency services to provide secure, interoperable, digital communication networks that are not reliant on public communications infrastructure. However, Radio IP Software claims that low-bandwidth networks of this kind are often unable to support data-intensive applications effectively. It says its new Radio IP MTG system allows users to introduce data applications such as computer-aided despatch and records management systems without experiencing data backlog or crashing networks.
