Telepartner spreads its wing
Telepartner, a long-standing UK-based mobile solutions specialist, has upped its game sharply with a £3.5 million funding deal that includes a substantial American acquisition - the mobile asset management division of TeleCommunications Systems, a major player in messaging and wireless solutions. The deal has been put together by New Venture Partners LLC, a pioneer in venture capital investment, and will lead to the formation of a new company with bases in the US and Britain. Its objective will be to extend its managed services across the US and Europe. Telepartner's speciality is its ServiceNet range of mobile data solutions, which are in use with companies such as BT, Thales, Southern Water, EDF and Thames Water. ServiceNet can be supplied as a managed service with access via the Web or as licensed software for installation on a customer's premises. The TCS product range include its 20/20 Mobility Suite, a mobile workforce solution that integrates back-office operations with wireless, handheld and mobile computing. According to Telepartner managing director Lindsay Kennedy: 'This funding will enable us provide solutions for almost any mobile working situation.'
