Vyke expands in mobile VoIP with Cloud deal
Vyke, a relatively new name in voice over Internet telephony, looks set to become more widely know as a result of a deal making its services available through any Wi-Fi wireless hotspot operated by The Cloud. Vyke, a UK-based company with Scandinavian connections, offers a range of communications technology such as systems for dialling calls from PCs, and software to VoIP-enable standard mobile phones. Its mobile VoIP service, however, takes it further into the communications mainstream. The new deal will mean you will be able to use Vyke VoIP phones at 9,000 Wi-Fi enabled wireless internet hotspots at a variety of public venues and in 16 high-density metropolitan areas such as the City of London, Canary Wharf, Manchester and Amsterdam. The Cloud works with a range of very high-profile partners such as Vonage, O2, BT, Vodafone, Skype, iPass, Telenor, Nintendo and Intel.
