AMD truckmount from AML
One of the latest contenders for the vehicle-mount computer market is the MT7570 from US-based AML, which is marketed in the UK through BancTec. The unit features a bright, 12.1 in SVGA colour touchscreen display with a 160 deg viewing angle, and either embedded Linux or Windows XP Embedded operating system. Both operating systems include terminal emulators (VT100/220, TN5250, TN3270), along with Web browser and VoIP (Skype) client. The processor is a non-Intel chip, the AMD Geode GX533, running at 400MHz. The Linux version comes with 128 megabytes of SDRAM (256 optional) and 512 megabytes of internal flash memory, while the Windows XPe version comes with 256 megabytes of SDRAM (384 optional) and 1 GB of flash memory. Connectivity features include 802.11b/g wireless networking and optional Bluetooth. There is an optional full QWERTY external keyboard. The operating temperature range is from minus 20 deg C to plus 50 deg C, and the environmental rating is IP65.
