CORGI streamlines safety inspections with field service solutions
CORGI, the UK's national watchdog for gas safety, says it has saved manual information processing, and reduced any risk of human error at the same time, by implementing a mobile software solution called Service Connect from BlackBay. Moreover, it says it is already seeing an increase in the time available for gas safety consultants, and expects this efficiency gain to reach 30 per cent once the system is fully established. Service Connect is field service management solution that provides operators with real-time information on job 'events' - notably key activities such as on-site arrival, job completion and return to operation. Blackbay has worked closely with CORGI to design and implement this version of the system, building it around CORGI's existing processes and matching business needs, whilst at the same time streamlining its operations. CORGI says that prior to this development its staff were burdened with an unwieldy yet vitally important administration process. Often the results of safety audits required double-checking, which led to large amounts of paper-based administration. Since moving to the BlackBay system, it says its consultants have seen 'a dramatic decrease' in paperwork, and can therefore perform more audits.
