Google Maps interface for Oracle
Oracle Field Service can now be integrated with the Google Maps for Enterprise mapping service, giving users new tools to help improve customer service, maximise resource utilisation and improve operational efficiencies. Oracle has been in the field service market for a long time, and has recently launched release 12 of its Oracle Field Service suite, featuring improvements such as enhanced mobility, scheduling and spares management capabilities. The company says integration of the Google Maps application programming interface will improve life for both despatchers and mobile staff. Despatchers will be able to view routes and problem locations on the Google Maps interface and track and manage resources and customer issues - zooming and panning without having to reload an entire map image each time. Field technicians for their part can view their jobs easily on a map or satellite image from the Google Maps API.
Google Maps for Enterprise integration is currently available as a part of Oracle Field Service 11.5.10 and above.
