Haultech integrates tracking with transport management
Integration of traffic and vehicle management systems with vehicle location and tracking seems to be a gathering trend in the software market, and the latest supplied to announce a development in this direction is Haultech. The company has integrated its HT Traffic planning and management system with Navman Wireless's GPS-based vehicle tracking system, which means it can now handle a complete set of processes that include job booking, load planning, vehicle and consignment tracking, invoicing and reporting. According to marketing manager Dean Woolliscroft, HT Traffic is the first system for small to medium-sized hauliers to offer this complete order-to-invoice capability. The best of breed approach is nothing new to Haultech, which already for instance uses Crystal Reports, a long-established third-party product, to handle its reporting functionality. Haultech's approach is interesting in that it is not promoting tracking as an add-on, so much as highlighting its features as part of a fully integrated package of resources. The company has set up an online demonstration of the tracking capability at a special Web site, www.htc-solutions.com/trackdemo.
