More power in latest DLog mobile PCs
The seventh generation of the IPC industrial PC has been launched by DLog UK, introducing a new motherboard and a more powerful microprocessor. Logistics applications are among its key target markets. The new version features an Intel Celeron processor running at 800MHz or 1GHz, or a Pentium rated at 2GHz, while the underlying technology includes Intel's 82915GM and 92901 FBM chipsets. Memory comes in at 512MB or 1GB of RAM, and the operating system can be DOS, Windows XP Professional, XP Embedded or Linux. The display is a 15in colour XGA touch screen with a resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels. Features such as CompactFlash, PCIeMiniCard and automatic switch-off are said to make the terminal suitable for forklift trucks, commissioning vehicles, construction machines and trucks. Connectivity features include 802.11b and g networking, plus provision for Ethernet 10/100 Mbit wired networking via standard RJ45 socket. Rugged construction and IP54/65 protection are also said to ensure resistance to tough mechanical, electrical, chemical and thermal environment conditions. The IPC7/215 is said to be capable of operating within a temperature range of 0 deg C to +50 deg C as standard, and minus 30 deg C to plus 50 deg C with optional heating unit.
