Skillweb, a developer probably known best for its mobile computing solutions, and particularly for its real-time proof-of-delivery management system, has expanded its portfolio to include a complete order fulfilment application known as Order Fulfilment Solution (OFS).

Whilst not a mobile application in itself, this enables users to build an integrated system that includes both mobile elements and the basic despatch and management systems behind them.

OFS aims to provide a cost-effective way of dealing with batches of inbound orders and cross-docking them ready for despatch. Using OFS, couriers, carriers and distributors can receipt, handle, sort, route and despatch orders.

Delivery routes and work loads can be optimised to ensure maximum efficiency, and deliveries can be prioritised. A diary function also allows advanced planning of work - for instance, in support of multiple service levels such as same-day, next-day, Saturday-only and evening deliveries.

 

Skillweb says OFS can be fully integrated with its family of track and trace solutions, or be used as a stand-alone system.
